ECOLO Investigates
       … Soil Remediation

Problem
A consulting firm was hired to complete a soil remediation project.  Initial soil testing done on the site showed large amounts of a chemical called Dipa.  This chemical, though non-toxic, has a very strong odor, and it was realized that this odor would be released through the removal of the contaminated soil.

Solution
To solve the problem Ecolo Odor Control Systems was consulted.  Based on the dimensions of the site, the variation of the location of each work area and the time frame of the project, Ecolo recommended a temporary portable system.  Two systems were then installed, one EP-60 running 10 nozzles, and an EP-60 running 5 nozzles.  Two separate systems were needed based on the distance required between the two major work areas.

Conclusion
The odor control system that was installed was very successful.  The odor created from the soil
remediation process did not affect the surrounding workers or community.
